Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about LinkBrain.

How many links can I save for free?

The free tier includes 50 links with every feature unlocked — AI search, collections, knowledge graph, reader mode, auto-tags, everything. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited links.

What browsers does the extension support?

The extension is available for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc). Firefox support is planned.

How does AI search work?

When you save a link, we extract the page content and create an AI embedding. When you search, your query is matched against these embeddings to find semantically similar content — not just keyword matches.

Can I import from other bookmark tools?

Yes! We support imports from Chrome Bookmarks, Pocket, Raindrop.io, Instapaper, Notion, Safari, and YouTube. You can also import any bookmarks HTML file or a plain list of URLs.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your links and data are private by default. Only collections you explicitly share are visible to others. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

What happens if a link goes dead?

LinkBrain periodically checks link health and flags broken links. You can see link status in the Health dashboard. Since we extract and store content at save time, you can still search and read summaries even if the original page goes down.

Can I use LinkBrain on mobile?

Yes! LinkBrain is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Install it from your mobile browser for a native-like experience. On mobile, you can use the Share menu to save links from any app.

Is there an API?

Yes. LinkBrain has a full REST API for saving, searching, and managing links programmatically. Generate an API key in Settings. See the API docs at /developers.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Go to Settings → Billing and click "Manage Subscription" to access the Stripe billing portal. You can cancel, change plans, or update payment info there.

What is "AI Search"?

AI Search is a chat interface that lets you ask questions about your saved links. AI synthesizes answers from your personal knowledge base with citations back to the original links.

What is Resurface?

Resurface uses spaced repetition to bring back links you haven't visited in a while. It helps you rediscover and retain knowledge from your saved content.

What is Keep Forever?

Keep Forever is your long-term shelf for links you never want to lose. Mark any link as a Keep Forever item and it stays protected in your Library.
